Extensive research of Canadian Tire’s and other retailer’s cookware was done to decide on the spec of the collection, while also monitoring areas of opportunity to visually stand out on shelves.

Research and inspiration were used to begin exploration sketches of forms, materials, and colours which were then narrowed into overall designs to be quoted by vendors.

Once we had narrowed vendors, we were able to narrow and finalize the design of our custom handles. It was important that handles would be sleek, modern, and clean while aligning with the Vida brand.

Solid lidded cookware was analyzed to identify the best material thickness and manufacture of lids. We then worked with the factory to design customized cast aluminum lids with a self-basting feature.

We wanted to include pot protectors for easy set storage. These pot protectors were designed to fold evenly into the cookware, with an overall form that was playful and reminicent of flowers.

Care was taken during development to ensure that all quality and compliance standards are met. Worked with internal quality engineers and factories to address all concerns.
